Diesel powered train set consisting of two power cars, Kiha 261, and two centre cars, Kiha 260 and Kiha 260 M.Prototype: The Kiha 261-1000 series is a diesel express train introduced in 2006. It was built to replace the Kiha 183 series. Over the course of its service, the train was used to replace other express trains and is currently used in intercity service as Hokkaido's main express train.
